The Anritsu Company required a new asset management system, primarily to
manage the company’s pool of demonstration equipment. Compusult Limited’s
commercial FasseTrack Asset Management System software is the basis for the
Anritsu’s system, with additions and modifications to meet Anritsu’s
stated requirements.
Anritsu Company has a large pool of demonstration (demo) electronic equipment
that moves between multiple locations in the United States (e.g., Richardson,
Texas; Pine Brook, New Jersey; Morgan Hill, California) and Canada. Each primary
piece of equipment in the demo pool is referred to as a Kit. Each Kit consists
of a mainframe with options and/or associated items, plus accessories. Each
mainframe, as well as many options and associated items, have unique serial
numbers, which must also be recorded and tracked.
Anritsu required an asset management system that provided the following
general features:
- ease-of-use;
- minimal requirements for technical support;
- quick access to key information and reports;
- the ability to track and schedule equipment movement; and,
- the ability to reflect Anritsu’s company-specific procedures.
FasseTrack provided Anritsu with a flexible, multi-user asset management
system for tracking every item in the demo inventory. It simplified the process
of identifying, locating, and tracking all demo equipment.
